Please join us as we celebrate our wonderful Veterans! Our speaker will be Shawn Murray, President of the Texas Military Historical Museum Foundation at Camp Mabry. He will introduce some special Veterans from our club who will share messages from their history serving our nation.

Shawn R. Murray is an Eagle Scout and a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel who served for more than 23 years on active duty as an Infantry officer. His military career included numerous assignments, including the Republic of Korea, Fort Campbell, Fort Hood, Picatinny Arsenal, and Patuxent River Naval Air Station, along with two combat tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Educational Military History, a Master's degree in History with an emphasis on the American Civil War, and a Master's degree in Business with an emphasis on Program Management.

After retiring from the military, LTC Murray continued his commitment to service through the Texas Military Forces Historical Foundation, where he served three years as a Board Member and one year as Vice President before assuming his current role as President of the Board. He is also an active member of the Museum's Living History Detachment, helping bring the story of the Texas Military Forces to life for visitors through living history programs and events. The Texas Military Forces Historical Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. The foundation provides financial support for the Museum's preservation of historic artifacts, equipment, and weapons, expanding exhibits, and sustaining educational and living history programs that tell the story of the Texas Military Forces from 1823 to the present. Through his combined military service and continued leadership with the Foundation, Shawn has dedicated his career and post-military life to serving his country and preserving the legacy of Texas's military men and women for future generations.
